Prompt Guide 1 - The Basics

Prompt Guide 1 - The Basics

Step 1 - Generating Examples

Inside Alvas you want to be really good at generating examples.

The best way to prompt is to change 1 thing in the prompt, and then generate an example. When you continue to make small incremental changes, you will quickly learn how the AI responds, which teaches you how to make a better prompt for your specific usecase.

To generate an example click Generate Example.

Step 2 - Forcing your instruction to the AI

Sometimes the AI can tend to not follow your exact instruction. If that happens, you might want to just change the wording of your instruction.

Another idea can be to mention the name of the text that you're prompting.

For example if i would like to add an emoji at the end of the subject line, I could write:

"You must add an emoji at the end."

If the AI ignores that instruction, you could change it to be:

"You must add an emoji at the end of the subject_line"

Step 3 - Method

Prompting is not like programming or using standard no-code tools where the computer always does EXACTLY what it's told.

It's more like talking to humans, where we can be creative in how we communicate, but also be misunderstood at the same time.

The best method for working with prompts is to adopt a method of rapid iteration.

Meaning constantly experimenting, and trying new things.

Do not aim to get it right in your first prompt.

The goal is not to be perfect from the start, the goal is to make a small change, that improves what the AI produces.

Then make many small changes to make many improvements.
